Beauty is only skin deep

1Peter 3:3-4
"Your Beauty should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gently and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God's sight"
What comes to mind when you hear the word Beauty? Too often we think of physical attractiveness. Have you ever met someone that by the world's standards was not very attractive but after you got to know her, she was beautiful. - and of course the reverse is true as well. We are so insecure as women we compare ourselves with the cosmetic industry, the magazine industry. Most of us will never be on the cover of a magazine.


When you think of beauty do you think of the beauty of Christ? The beauty that comes from his infinite love? His tender voice is soft and gentle.
Psalm 27:4
"One thing that I ask of the Lord, this is what I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to gaze upon the BEAUTY of the Lord and to seek him in his temple"

So the next time I have a bad hair day- when I dont feel pretty I need to be reminded that knowing, trusting and living for Jesus is what makes me beautiful and remind myself of the verse in 1Peter.
